World Financial Planning Week
6–10 Oktober 2025

 

Financial Planning Week forms part of World Financial Planning Day, coordinated by the Financial Planning Standards Board (FPSB) and its affiliates (like the FPI in SA).
It’s celebrated in more than 25 countries, all with the same message:

“Live your today. Plan your tomorrow.”

 

The purpose is to raise awareness about the importance of proper financial planning and to help individuals make informed financial decisions for their future.

 

Main focus:

• To educate the public about how sound financial planning can help them achieve life goals — such as buying a home, funding education, or retiring comfortably.

• To promote access to qualified, ethical financial planners (especially Certified Financial Planners – CFP® professionals).

• To empower South Africans to take control of their financial wellbeing — including budgeting, saving, investing, and managing debt.

• To highlight the role of the Financial Planning Institute (FPI) and other professionals in maintaining high ethical and professional standards.

Ascor® gives back during Financial Planning week

 

Ascor® Independent Wealth Managers proudly joined the global celebration of Financial Planning Week (6-10 October) and World Financial Planning Day on 8 October by giving back to our community in a meaningful way.

On Monday, 6 October, three of the CitiWire Top 50 Financial Planners, Caty Naude, Michelle Bester and Stephan Joubert —members of our esteemed team—dedicated their time and expertise to uplift and educate those around them.

Ascor® hosted an open educational session for all individuals in our office park, aiming to make financial planning more accessible and understandable.

 

The turnout exceeded our expectations, reaffirming the importance of investing in our communities. We believe that financial planning should not be a privilege—it should be a reality for everyone. By sharing our skills, knowledge, and experience, we empower individuals to take control of their financial futures.

 

It was an honour for our Certified Financial Planners (CFP®) to lead this initiative. Their passion for financial education and community upliftment reflects Ascor’s® core values: integrity, empowerment, and service.

The “Estate Directory” is a handy document we provide to help people become aware of all the information they need to leave behind for loved ones, making it easier to manage an estate.

 

The blue piggy bank is a savings piggy that we distribute alongside the FPI My Money 123 course – a general course on saving and budgeting.
